The "soft beauty" preset = slight brighten + gentle softening for a fresher look. Note it's color-grade level — it does not smooth skin (that needs a much heavier algorithm). Everything runs locally; nothing is uploaded.

Does this damage my original?
No. The adjustment creates a new image; the original is untouched, and any preset/slider can be returned to default.
Does the beauty option smooth skin?
No. It's a color-grade lift and soften for a fresher look; real skin-smoothing needs a dedicated portrait algorithm.
Is the image uploaded?
No. Pixel processing happens in browser memory; a refresh clears everything.
